1 SAMPLE INSPIRATION CHALLENGE
In the music production world of today it is sometimes very easy to become overwhelmed with so many possibilities. The huge variety of Samples, sounds, VST instruments and creative tools can very often have a negative effect on our creative process and cause us to not even know where to begin and how to move forward when wanting to make music.
Some of the useful techniques are “the minimal approach” in which we reduce our choices of creative tools to very few and “force” ourselves to make the maximum with what we got.
LIMITED TIME MISSION
To make an example of this technique, a group of Ableton Certified Trainers went on a limited time mission to prove it possible to create advanced and unique music production concepts using nothing more then one sample and effects inside Ableton Live.

OPERATOR ALL IN ONE CHALLENGE
In this challenge, the Ableton Certified Trainers will create a complete musical concept using nothing but 1 instrument, which is Ableton´s super powerful synth called Operator.
They are not allowed to add any effects and use mixing tools like EQ or compressor, which makes the task extremely unusual and complex.
The focus of this challenge is purely on sound design and creating the music from the ground up, sculpturing the sound using 4 Oscillators, Envelopes, 1 Filter, 1 LFO and pitch modulation.
The goal of this challenge is at first to “go back to the roots” in times where making music was something you did with very few synthesizers and recorded into an analog tape with no extra tools.
Second to show you can enhance your creativity when limiting yourself to use less tools as possible.

COLLABORATION CHALLENGE
This week, the Certified Trainers challenged themselves to create a track together during the live stream in 2 rounds!
In the first round, each person had a few minutes to record 1 track using an instrument in his studio. The trainers added their takes and sent the files online to each other in different ways, some of which weren’t totally efficient.
In the second round, they will have the chance to edit/modify/mix each other’s recordings and also place the session online for all Ableton users to take part in this online collaboration, the best sessions will be presented online - resulting in a finished track in 2 streams.
As usual in these meetings, tons of creative tips and tricks and "out of the box" approaches will be exposed from Trainers from all over the world!
